About Me
I’m Nicole Johnson, a psychiatric nurse practitioner and the founder of Juniper Lane Psychiatry. My clinical background includes extensive work in community mental health, where I cared for individuals with complex needs and developed a practice style rooted in clarity, patience, and genuine human connection.
I opened Juniper Lane to provide thoughtful psychiatric care where patients feel heard and supported, with meaningful involvement in treatment decisions. I believe in the value of in-person care, and I structure my appointments so there is time to understand the full picture — symptoms, history, trauma, functioning, and goals — without feeling rushed. Once care is established, telehealth may be an option when clinically appropriate.

My Approach to Care
I provide structured, evidence-based psychiatric care with a focus on diagnostic clarity, thoughtful medication management, and meaningful clinical connection. Treatment decisions are based on a careful understanding of your symptoms, history, functioning, and goals—not simply on a checklist or a single symptom.
Medication decisions are collaborative. I explain the reasoning behind my recommendations, discuss reasonable alternatives, and involve you meaningfully in treatment decisions. Medications are prescribed with a clear clinical purpose and guided by evidence, clinical judgment, and your individual needs.
Treatment is not limited to medication. Brief therapeutic interventions, practical coping strategies, behavioral approaches, and lifestyle changes may be incorporated when they can support your overall treatment plan.
When more specialized evaluation or treatment would be beneficial, I coordinate referrals to appropriate professionals in sleep medicine, neurology, psychotherapy, or other specialties. My goal is to provide care that is thoughtful, transparent, and grounded in sound clinical principles.
